Chloe Webster – NQT Primary Teacher at Anderson’s Primary School
In Chloe’s final year at Webster’s High School in Kirriemuir, Angus she studied Higher Psychology which she absolutely loved and decided to pursue further education in this subject.
Chloe went to Aberdeen University for 4 years, studying psychology when she found herself interested in learning about child development. Chloe then worked one to one with a young boy with autism and found it incredibly rewarding. Chloe said,
“I really loved that I was making such a positive impact on just one child. I then decided that I wanted to expand this positive impact from one young person to teaching a class of young people. I do love working with children, even spending time with my younger family members. I just knew from then that I wanted to become a Primary Teacher.”
Chloe then decided that she wanted to become a Primary Teacher, however, didn’t have the necessary Higher English qualification to get into the PGDE Primary Education course. So, she decided to take up Higher English whilst working in retail and volunteering at a school in Aberdeen to gain more experience with young people.
Chloe then went on to complete her PGDE Primary Education course at The University of Edinburgh. Chloe’s partner was posted to Moray with the Royal Air Force and she is now undertaking her NQT year at Anderson’s Primary School, in Forres.
Chloe explained that she loves working at Anderson’s Primary School as all the staff are very supportive and as a result, she has learned a lot from the people around her.
