What attracted you to the industry you are in?

After being involved in the care with my grandpa, I decided I would love to help others doing this.

Moving & handling, dementia training, data protection, infection control, equality & diversity, awareness, Parkinson’s training.

Patience, compassion, time management, and understanding.

No, anything can happen.

Yes, support is always available should you need it.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

Putting smiles on service users’ faces, you’re maybe the only person they have seen that day/week.

No, not always although I wish I had done it sooner.

Be in it for the right reasons because you care, not just for a job.

What is your career goal?

I’m happy doing what I’m doing. Now I can’t see me doing anything else.

How does it feel to be a KeyWorker on the frontline, supporting the Country’s fight against Covid-19?

This is a very scary time for everyone but also a proud time to be involved in the caring industry. The vital PPE to protect ourselves and service users we will fight this. What makes me proud is the recognition we now get. Care workers were always forgotten about but now we are being noticed for the very important hard work we do for the elderly and vulnerable people out there.
