Virtual event success for Modern Apprentices
Moray's senior phase secondary school pupils and their parents know lots more about Foundation Apprenticeships thanks to DYW Moray's Foundation Apprenticeships Virtual Event.
The informative event was hosted by Phillip Wood and Emma Milton, who are current Digital Marketing Modern Apprentices but have both previously been Business Skills Foundation Apprentices, and both spoke individually to the audience about their different Foundation Apprenticeship experiences.
The event, which was broadcast on DYW Moray Facebook Live on 14th December 2021, also featured Cindy Gee, Foundation Apprenticeship Coordinator at Moray College UHI, and Jackie Andrews, Head of Academic Partnerships at Moray College UHI, who both talked in detail about Foundation Apprenticeships, including the benefits they can have to young people and their futures.
When the event was live, there were over 70 viewers and members of the audience watching from home asked questions during and after the event. In a space of 24 hours, the event went on to be viewed more than 700 times.
Phillip Wood, a Digital Marketing Modern Apprentice with DYW Moray and DYW North East, said: "I chose to do a Business Skills Foundation Apprenticeship because working in a business and office environment is something that I wanted to do when I left school.
"If you're interested in something and there's a Foundation Apprenticeship available in that or a similar subject, it's something that I would highly recommend."
Emma Milton, a Digital Marketing Modern Apprentice with DYW Moray, said: "Choosing a Foundation Apprenticeship was one of the best choices I made when choosing my subjects at school.
"It helped me to gain confidence, knowledge and work experience and I then had the option to go to college or university and study or go on to do a Modern Apprenticeship."
