DYW Moray hosts fully booked employer event
Over 50 employers from across Moray descended on Moray College UHI’s Alexander Graham Bell Centre for Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Moray’s Young Person’s Guarantee Lunch and Learn event.
The fully booked event, which took on 29th October 2021, gave employers from different industries and sectors the opportunity to discover why local and national employers are committed to the Young Person’s Guarantee and how they can get involved to support young people in the Moray region.
Sarah Barnes, DYW Moray Programme Manager, said:
“It was really great to get so many Moray employers together in one room to talk about the Young Person’s Guarantee. Several employers from Moray have already signed up to the Young Person’s Guarantee and to support and recruit young people in our area. We really hope to receive many more sign-ups from the businesses that attended the event.”
Scott McLennan, Regional Manager for Santander, who was guest speaker for the event said:
“It was fantastic to see so much energy in the room all focussed on supporting young people in Moray to develop. I really believe if the business community pulls together, we can really help our young people grow and be career ready which will have huge benefits for us all and importantly Moray’s wider economy.”
The Young Person's Guarantee is a commitment to bring together employers, partners, and young people. It aims to connect every 16 to 24-year-old in Scotland to an opportunity. This could be a job, apprenticeship, further or higher education, training programme, or volunteering.
