Online offer for school leavers 2020
Moray school leavers and parents are encouraged to get involved in a series of online events and activities this summer delivered by Developing the Young Workforce.
The sessions have been created to support both young people to take their next steps in life along with their parents and carers delivered through our Scotland’s Biggest Parents’ Events and the DYW Skills Academy.
Scotland’s Biggest Parents’ Event (SBPE) series is aimed at providing information and relevant updates on topics that are of interest to support young people with the transition from school. The first online event will take place on Tuesday, 7th July 2020 and parents can register via the following link: www.dyw.scot/sbpe
The DYW Skills Academy: Get Industry Ready delivered over July and August is a series of activities and virtual experiences with industry to support young people to build capacity to enter the world of work.
Sarah Baxter, DYW Moray Programme Manager said,
The DYW Skills Academy which starts on 13th July for five weeks will give school leavers in Moray the opportunity to enhance their skills set and add something unique to their CV. It will only involve around 2-3 hours of online activities per week so we really want to encourage our local school leavers to take this opportunity and sign up.
Those young people who register will get to hear from employers on the opportunities that are available to them and engage with sessions to develop their skills and qualities including how to manage their finances. They will get to do some online training on work related topics including Health and Safety and Customer Service and also be offered a virtual mock interview and their CV checked by a local employer.
To find out everything you need to know about the programme and to register please go to www.dyw.scot/skills-academy. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Baxter, DYW Moray Programme Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org.
