Caledonia Hosiery Ltd. is a small, independent sock manufacturer based in Forres. We produce premium wool and cotton socks using traditional knitting methods and natural fibres. As we continue to grow, we're offering a fantastic opportunity to train as a Sock Knitting Operative through a full-time apprenticeship.
About the Role
As an apprentice, you’ll learn the full sock production process - from operating specialist circular knitting machines to quality control and finishing techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor sock knitting machinery
- Set up machines and check yarn quality
- Inspect products for defects or faults
- Assist with finishing and packaging
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning
- Work safely and collaboratively in a small team environment
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Enthusiastic about learning a hands-on craft
- Reliable and pays close attention to detail
- A good team player with a proactive attitude
- Interested in manufacturing, textiles or Scottish heritage
No experience is required – full training will be provided.
