AJ Engineering & Construction Services Ltd.’s team are made up of experienced time served Fabricator/Welders who are dedicated to passing on knowledge and skills to our apprentices.
• 1st Year – 2 days per week at college
• 2nd – 4th Year – On site assessment
As an Apprentice Welder Fabricator, your duties include: -
College Duties/ Responsibilities
• Attend college at the times associated with the qualification and agreed by tutors and managers
• Complete the required work associated with module assessments in a timely manner
• Raising issues early when not meeting required deadlines
• Working in the workplace during college holidays
Work Duties/ Responsibilities
• Learn and adhere to all safe practices, processes and PPE
• Work professionally and respectfully with other apprentices, time served colleagues and supervisor team
• Safely setting and operating shop floor welding plants, machinery and tooling
• Accurately measuring and working to the product specification tolerances
• Develop MIG and TIG welding to a high standard
• Assemble jobs and projects as part of a team and individually
• Ensure work areas kept in a safe and tidy manner
• Learn how to use manufacturing drawings
• Any other tasks required
• The ideal Apprentice Fabricator/Welder will have the following: -
• A Minimum of 3 passes at SCQF 5 in Mathematics, English and a Technical subject is preferred
• A desire to want a long-term career as a Fabricator/Welder
• Good communication skills to ultimately liaise with colleagues and tutors
• An interest/understanding in engineering
• Friendly and positive attitude
