From the 29th of September 2025 to the 5th of October 2025, is Scotland’s Climate Week!

Here at DYW Moray, we’re proud to be playing our part. The DYW Moray Sustainability Group has recently been re-established and aims to increase awareness and understanding of sustainability-related job roles within the region. Through our dedicated Sustainability Group, we’re working to embed sustainability into everything we do. For us, that means not only raising awareness of the incredible variety of career pathways in the green sector, but also creating opportunities for employers, educators, and young people to come together, share ideas, and learn from one another about the sustainability trends shaping our future.

Our mission goes beyond knowledge. Through quarterly meetings as a group, we want to help young people build the skills and confidence they’ll need to thrive in the fast growing world of green careers, looking to embed sustainable careers discussions at school events while creating passion for environmental issues.

To make this vision a reality, we’ve brought together an inspiring group of organisations including SSEN Transmission, Elixir Distillers, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), to name just a few. Together, we’re planning an exciting large scale event for secondary school pupils. The aim is to spark conversations about sustainability, climate change, and the many opportunities right here in Moray, while linking global challenges to our local context. The group will also be attending careers fairs, supporting career discussions, and are planning an exciting Moray Mock COP in 2026.

This event will be about more than information, it’s about inspiration. We want to bridge the gap between young people and sustainable careers, opening doors to new possibilities and helping them imagine the role they could play in shaping a greener tomorrow. We’re excited to continue these conversations with our partners, and we can’t wait to bring these plans to life!
