MJD Stems are looking for a proactive and personable IT Support Apprentice to join their growing team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients and helping them keep their IT systems running smoothly.
You’ll troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues—from hardware and software to cloud services—via our service desk located at Nether Dallachy and on-site visits across Scotland. As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), our work is fast-paced and varied. One day you might be configuring Microsoft 365, the next installing a firewall or assisting with a network rollout.
You’ll receive full training on our internal systems (including ConnectWise PSA) and work closely with our senior engineers to deliver outstanding service.
What will I learn?
• First-line support: Diagnose and resolve Tier 1 and 2 support tickets for desktops,
laptops, servers, and mobile devices running Windows 11, macOS, and Microsoft 365
• Microsoft Entra / Azure AD: Administer users, groups, and access permissions
Support cloud identity issues such as login problems and MFA setup
• Customer service: Provide friendly, professional support via phone, email, and on-site.
Communicate technical solutions clearly to users of all skill levels
• On-site visits: Travel to client offices across Scotland to resolve urgent issues, perform
maintenance, or assist with project rollouts (pool car provided)
• Ticketing & documentation: Use ConnectWise PSA to log issues, track progress, and
document resolutions. Prioritise and escalate tickets to meet SLAs
• System monitoring: Use tools like Ninja One RMM to monitor client systems, patch
devices, check backups, and ensure security protocols are in place
• Project support: Assist with IT projects including client onboarding, Office 365
migrations, network installations, and cybersecurity enhancements
• Knowledge sharing: Contribute to our internal knowledge base and help improve
processes for better service delivery

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 8.
