The post holder will be responsible for:
Ensuring that stringent aviation engineering standards are maintained, and Health and Safety at Work regulations are adhered to.
Maintaining a register of Test and Measuring Equipment (TME) for RAF Lossiemouth and other Units that fall under the RAF Lossiemouth Parenting Agreement.
Compile and distribute monthly Calibration Call Forwards Notifications and Routine Maintenance (RM) Notifications for items of test equipment.
Update records with condition, calibration dates, RM dates, modifications and any other detail changes.
Inspection of equipment upon receipt to carry out calibration date checks and comprising item checks.
Supporting the Squadrons Unit Movements Officers by overseeing and coordinating test equipment required for out of area purposes.
Maintaining a close liaison with the TMEC Logistician for the receipt, despatch and progression of logistical transactions pertaining to items of test equipment.
Working together with external agencies and industry partners to arrange onsite / offsite calibrations and repairs.
Undertake other duties as directed by your Line manager, which are appropriate for your grade and levels of responsibility.
Person specification
This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly.
It would be helpful, although not decisive, that the post holder has some engineering & logistics experience or some knowledge of logistics / engineering documentation.
It is crucial the post holder has outstanding diligence, good investigative skills and an elevated level of accuracy in record-keeping.
A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office would be significantly advantageous for the position. Having a positive outlook towards continuous improvement and management assurance processes are essential for this role.
This role can involve manual handling (MH); therefore it is essential that candidates are physically able to carry out MH duties when required with the use of MH aids if appropriate.
The successful applicant will have to complete periodic mandatory MOD and Civil Service training packages.
